Multi award winning Ocean Rafting visits the “Wild Side” of the Whitsunday Islands, the uninhabited islands with beautiful natural scenery brimming with marine, bird and animal life. There are two exciting tour options, the Northern Exposure and Southern Lights. Each Ocean Rafting day offers three days in one, including an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, pristine snorkelling reefs and guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walks.
Ocean Rafting offers the ultimate access to the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach and special snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island ensure a memorable underwater experience.
Ocean Rafting has been operating since 1997 as a family owned and operated business and is proud to have special permits allowing its vessels to visit protected areas in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Whitehaven Beach/Hill Inlet.
Skipper/ Eco Host
The skipper role will ensure guests have a fun filled adventure and personalised service whilst operating our semi-rigid inflatable vessels around the Whitsunday Islands.
Experience Required
- Basic mechanical knowledge (MED3 is the relevant outboard engineering ticket)
- Basic trades/ building experience
- Knowledge and understanding of weather patterns and natural elements
Minimum Requirements
- Elements of Shipboard Safety
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Advance Resuscitation Certificate
- Open manual drivers license
- Coxswains
Deckhand/ Eco Host
The Deckhand/ Eco Host will ensure guests have a fun filled adventure and personalised service with a guided snorkel and National Park walk in the Whitsunday Islands.
Experience Required
- Snorkel guide with reef/ eco knowledge
- Anchoring and rope work on small vessels
- Public speaking and leading guests during a tour
- Local knowledge of the Whitsunday and Great Barrier Reef
Minimum Requirements
- Elements of Shipboard Safety
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Advance Resuscitation Certificate
- Open manual drivers license
Sales & Reservations Superstar
The Sales & Reservations position encompasses a mix of customer service, sales and a day to day manifesting of vessels, planes and crew.
Experience Required
- Previous sales experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience in a fast paced environment
Minimum Requirements
- Open drivers license
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure- manifesting 8 vessels and 6 aircrafts daily
- High-level computer skills, encompassing Microsoft Office
Bus Driver Extraordinaire
The bus driver + more! This role entails transferring guests to and from Whitsunday Airport
Experience Required
- Exceptional driving and commentary skills
Minimum Requirements
- Open manual drivers license
- Light Rigid license (LR)
- Must be enthusiastic, energetic and enjoy entertaining and engaging with a range of people
