The team at Ocean Rafting is proud to be selected to take part in the Tourism Reef Protection Initiative. This initiative allows tourism operators along the breadth of the Great Barrier Reef to conduct in-water Reef Health and Impact Surveys, remove pest species from local reefs, clean marine debris from beaches and much more.
Following the successful Tourism Industry Activation and Reef Protection Initiative in 2021, this funding allows the tourism industry to get back on its feet and become true stewards of our snorkel locations while contributing valuable data and information to Marine Park management.
This initiative not only benefits the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, but it allows our team to broaden their knowledge of the local ecosystems and develop skills in Reef health surveying and reporting.

This initiative was implemented by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority as part of the Australian Government’s Reef Protection package.
