Our Mission
At Ocean Rafting, our commitment to environmental stewardship drives us to protect and preserve our marine ecosystems. Through our in-house recycling initiative Tins 4 Fins, we transform recyclables into resources that directly support vital conservation efforts. Every bottle and can collected funds beach clean-ups, manta ray research, and future sustainability projects.
By raising awareness and encouraging at-home sustainability efforts, we empower our community to take action. Even those who feel too busy or unsure of how to make a difference can contribute by donating their recycling funds to Tins 4 Fins, directly supporting marine conservation—one recyclable at a time.

Our Goals
- PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM: Encourage responsible waste disposal among guests and crew while integrating sustainable practice into our operations.
- FUND MARINE CONSERVATION: Utilise recycling proceeds to support ongoing habitat restoration, research, and wildlife protection.
- REDUCE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Minimise landfill waste by expanding Tins 4 Fins involvement at local community events.
- ENGAGE AND EDUCATE: Inspire community involvement in ocean conservation by promoting easy, at-home sustainability efforts, including donating funds to Tins 4 Fins to support marine conservation.
- EXPAND THE INITIATIVE: Grow Tins 4 Fins by increasing participation in the Containers for Change program, engaging other businesses in our environmental efforts, and inspiring the community to embrace eco-friendly practices.

Our Targets
This year, Tins 4 Fins will focus on expanding its reach by engaging local businesses to contribute weekly or monthly donations of recyclable waste, supporting the initiative.
Through continued community involvement, Tins 4 Fins aims to raise $2000 to contribute to Manta Ray research.
Manta Rays are a vital and iconic species of the Great Barrier Reef, playing a crucial role in maintaining marine biodiversity. The Whitsundays is emerging as a key gathering area for Reef Manta Rays, a species listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Despite their ecological importance, there are still significant gaps in our understanding of their nursery grounds, behaviours, and movement patterns.
We want to inspire our community to appreciate and engage with these incredible marine animals—whether by participating in research efforts, sharing sightings, or supporting conservation initiatives.
For those unable to take part directly, contributing recycling funds to Tins 4 Fins offers a simple yet impactful way to support critical research and protect manta rays. Together, we can deepen our understanding and safeguard the future of this remarkable species.
