At the start of winter, the Ocean Rafting team turned trash into action and took to the shores for a hands-on beach clean-up event, an initiative proudly funded through our Tins 4 Fins recycling program.

This event was brought together by staff and our local community, all working together to help protect our beautiful coastline and marine life. Armed with gloves, collection bags, and plenty of community spirit, our volunteers collected a range of debris—from bottle tops to fishing equipment, and microplastics hidden in the sand.
Tins 4 Fins is Ocean Rafting’s in-house recycling initiative, designed to turn everyday waste into something meaningful. By collecting and recycling drink containers through the Containers for Change program, we raise funds to support local environmental projects like this beach clean, as well as marine conservation and education initiatives. Every can or bottle recycled is more than just waste diverted from landfill, it’s a small step toward a cleaner, healthier ocean.

Marine debris is one of the biggest threats facing ocean ecosystems today. Plastics and other pollutants not only harm wildlife like turtles, seabirds, and whales, but also disrupt delicate marine habitats. Regular beach cleans help reduce this impact, while raising awareness about the importance of responsible waste disposal and plastic reduction.
If you’d like to get involved, donate your 10c containers to Tins 4 Fins, through our Containers 4 Change account # C10886623, join a future clean-up, or simply spread the word—every action helps.
